According to the BSUFL Charter, the university conducts scientific, research, and innovation activities in accordance with its specialist training profiles and priority areas for fundamental and applied scientific research.

The main tasks of BSUFL in the fields of science, research, and innovation are as follows:

• Developing BSUFL as a national center for linguistic education and contributing to the intellectual, cultural, and moral development of society

• Meeting the Republic's needs for qualified specialists with higher language education and for highly qualified researchers

• Conducting fundamental and applied research in fields of knowledge related to BSUFL’s academic profiles

• Updating curricula and study programs with the latest achievements in linguistics, pedagogy, psychology, and other sciences

• Contributing to the development of Belarusian science by carrying out projects within state scientific research programs.
